OUR STORY

A LIVING TRADITION, ROOTED IN THE GURU–SHISHYA PARAMPARA

THE WORLD'S ONLY KURHIPUDI GURUKULAM

Ornate Mandala Design

A Vision to Protect, Preserve & Promote

Sampradaayam was established with a clear purpose to Protect, Preserve and Promote Kuchipudi. Situated across a 12-acre campus in Kallepally, Srikakulam, the Gurukulam was created to impart complete knowledge of Kuchipudi to dedicated students who aspire to become professional artistes.

Inspired by the ideals of institutions such as Smt. Rukmini Devi Arundale’s Kalakshetra, Sampradaayam seeks to create a space where the classical arts can be nurtured, practiced and carried forward for generations.

Where Learning Becomes a Way of Life

The uniqueness of Sampradaayam lies in its ancient Gurukula system, where the Guru and Shishya live and learn within the same campus. Surrounded by greenery, cashew trees and the sounds of nature, students experience an environment where dance becomes part of everyday life.

The Gurukulam follows a concept of complete education in Kuchipudi, combining theoretical understanding with practical training. Alongside dance and music, students are encouraged to pursue academic education, creating an environment that nurtures both the artiste and the individual.

From Tradition to a Global Stage

Sampradaayam's vision extends beyond its campus in Kallepally. Its work includes major Kuchipudi productions and performances presented across India and international destinations, including Europe, the United Kingdom, Malaysia, the United States and other cultural platforms.

The institution has also embraced digital learning through the digitalisation of its six-year Kuchipudi course, making structured learning in theory, practice and performance accessible to students beyond geographical boundaries
